New + Notable - Spring 2023
Out with hunkering down for cozy winter meals, and in with springy, fruity, and sunny things! Our April New + Notables are great for tulip-time road trips, adding a kick of spice to your meals, and springtime picnics.
Fast Fruit
When you’re craving something sweet and quick, fruit gummies and rolls are a great way to go. But instead of reaching for fruit snacks that aren’t really fruit (full of corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and artificial flavors), try one of these real-fruit-based options. Oh, and kids love them, too.
Solely Fruit Gummies
Made with just 3 ingredients, Solely’s organic whole fruit gummies are great for snacking on-the-go and taste like the tropics! Choose from mango, mango guava, and mango orange, all available in our snack bar aisle.
Annie’s Fruit Tape
Along with the cutest bunny fruit snacks, you can now find Annie’s fruit tape in the snack aisle. Made from real fruit juice without artificial flavors or high-fructose corn syrup, unroll this sensational strawberry sweet treat.
Bear Fruit Rolls
Featuring just four fruit and veg ingredients, Bear’s fruit rolls are naturally vegan and gluten-free. To make the rolls, fruit is gently pureed before being slowly dried at a low temperature, sliced into strips, and rolled up. Choose from strawberry or raspberry, also in the snack aisle.
Hot Sauce from Here
Sure, Bellingham is well known for its breweries, dotting almost every street corner. But small-batch hot sauce? The reputation is growing! In addition to Funky’s Hot Sauce, we’ve added two new Bellingham-based hot sauce brands to our lineup: HOSA & El Fuego!
HOSA Hot Sauce
A small-batch, fermented hot sauce, HOSA’s primary ingredients are chiles, vinegar, salt, and sugar. Striving to use as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible, HOSA works with some familiar faces, like Boldly Grown Farm, to grow the chiles for their sauce. Choose from a variety of spice levels and flavors, from very mild and complex flavor to hot with a rich, malty flavor. Available in our Meat Department, because it’s really good on meat.
El Fuego Hot Sauce
If you’re a seeker of unique flavors, El Fuego deserves a spot in your fridge next to all your other favorite sauces. With flavors like Pineapple Thai, Watermelon Peño, and GuavaHaba, El Fuego adds a bright, flavorful punch to everything from tacos and avo toast to pizza and wings. Also in the Meat Department.
Me & the Bees
Lemonade: it’s basically sunshine (and springtime) in a bottle. And Me & the Bees Lemonade is extra special because it tastes great, gives back to the bees, and was founded by one of the youngest female CEOs of all time!
When founder Mikaila was 4, she was stung by not one, but two bees over the course of a week. While at first, she found herself afraid of being stung again, after learning more about what they do for the environment, she had a newfound appreciation for the bumbling bees and their stings. Around the same time, Mikaila was planning to enter a children’s business competition and needed a new product to launch. One thing led to another, and she created a honey-sweetened lemonade based on an old family recipe and her new appreciation for bees.
10 years later, Me & The Bees Lemonade can be found in over 4,000 stores (including your Co-op!), and Mikaila donates a portion of sales to organizations that support honeybees. Find her Ginger Lemonade and Prickly Pear Lemonade in our cold drink case.
