April Co-op Made Features

We make food right, and we make it right here! We’re proud to put the Skagit Valley Food Co-op name on a dizzying array of delicious items we handcraft in our kitchens using fresher-than-fresh, quality ingredients.

April's Co-op Made Features are sippable, scoopable, and snackable. Be sure to try them all: Tulip Sunrise Smoothie, Dazzelnut Ice Cream, our citrus-y Spring Beets with Orange Salad, and Spiced Date Rugelach (a very tasty pastry).

Tulip Sunrise Smoothie

Early bird gets the blooms! Start your day with a tropical twist of pineapple, coconut, strawberries, and peaches, with organic hemp hearts for a quick kick of extra nutrition.

If you like sweet treats that are perfectly tart with a punch of bright, tropical flavor, you can’t go wrong with the Tulip Sunrise.

If you want to add a boost of greens, kale, spinach, or spirulina would be the cherry on top to power you through a fun-filled day at the Tulip Festival!

Dazzelnut Ice Cream

We all scream for this bedazzling mix of toasted hazelnuts and coconut, chocolate chunks, and our irresistible vanilla ice cream.

Our ice cream experts whip up a batch of our vanilla ice cream before stirring in big, delicious chunks of chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and plenty of coconuts flakes. Chocolatey, sweet, salty, and a but tropical, our Dazzelnut ice cream hits all the sweet craving checkboxes you’d want from ice cream, rain or shine!

Spring Beets with Orange Salad

A vibrant mix of local, organic beets and organic oranges perfect for spring picnics in the PNW.

Our Deli team starts by oven-roasting, then chopping up some beautiful, bright organic beets before allowing them to chill to the perfect salad-eating temperature. Next, they’re tossed up with a citrusy dressing made of organic oranges before being finished off with fresh herbs.

Enjoy our spring beets with orange salad as a quick and nutritious lunch or bring some home to serve as a healthy side dish with a chicken or steak dinner.

Spiced Date Rugelach

Rugelach: it's pronounced "de-lish-us." Really, it sounds like "arugula," but however you say it, try not do it with your mouth full of this tasty pastry: dates, cardamom, and cinnamon in a flaky cream cheese dough.

Our bakers start by creating a delightfully flaky, subtly sweet cream cheese dough and layering it with a flavorful filling of dates, cardamom, and cinnamon. Next, the dough is all rolled up, topped with sugar, and baked to a crunchy perfection.

Of course, this rugelach is delightful all on its own, but pairing it with a Co-op coffee is always recommended.
