Shop 5% Friday on January 24th to Support Skagit Meals on Wheels
For almost 50 years, the Skagit County Meals on Wheels program has been dedicated to ensuring that no senior goes hungry or isolated in Skagit County. The incidence of malnutrition is prevalent in the senior population due to factors such as limited income, isolation, chronic disease, and mobility.
The delivery of hot, healthy meals and regular wellness checks helps seniors remain in their homes, promoting independence and dignity and preventing malnutrition.
How Will Your Shopping Trip Support Meals on Wheels?
Funds from the Skagit Valley Food Co-op 5% Friday will directly support Skagit County Meals on Wheels in delivering hot, nutritious meals to seniors in our community. As food costs continue to rise, this funding is more vital than ever, ensuring that seniors receive the daily nourishment they need without worry.
Beyond providing meals, each delivery includes a wellness check, offering peace of mind and helping seniors remain safely in their homes. These critical visits combat isolation, foster independence, and provide a lifeline for vulnerable seniors. Your support helps us deliver more than food—it delivers care, connection, and community.
