Shop 4% Friday on January 26th to Support Finney Farm Seed Distribution

Finney Farm believes that food Sovereignty is the right and responsibility of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right and responsibility to define their own food and agriculture systems. Finney Farm produces and distributes organic, heirloom, open-pollinated seed at no charge to help increase food access, build food sovereignty, and preserve biodiversity.

This project began around 2005, when Finney Farm packaged up some of their homegrown seeds to share at the Okanogan Family Faire. It was such a success that they invested a great deal of time, labor, and personal funds to help expand the project and reach, with current annual distribution at around 10k packages of seed.

How Will Your Shopping Trip Support Finney Farm?

Finney Farm will use the funds from 4% Friday to purchase packaging materials for their annual seed distribution project. This includes the soil amendments for their no-till production as well as the distribution costs including fuel, shipping and printing costs for educational publications to share with the seeds.

Any additional funds will go towards the cost of seed purchases, small tool replacements and upgrades, or purchase of a large silage tarp to replace some of our worn smaller tarping components which are a crucial part of our no-till production system.
