Black Lives Matter: A Guide to Black- & POC-Owned Businesses in the Co-op & Other Ways to Show Support
Here at the Co-op, we've spent the last few weeks reflecting on ways we as an organization can do to support Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in our community and in the world at large. We recognize that we do not have all the answers, but we are working to educate ourselves and to create action plans for what we can do to show our support.
Starting June 15th running through June 30th, we will be donating 1% of all sales to Black Lives Matter. To double your shopping impact, we've partnered with Skagit Community Foundation, who will be matching our donations dollar-for-dollar by donating locally to Northwest Justice Project's Race Equity & Justice Initiative in Skagit County.
We've created this BIPOC shopping guide if you'd like to support Black- and POC-owned brands that we carry at the Co-op. It also includes a list of companies that have shown their support for Black Lives Matter.
We will continue to update the list as needed (and apologize in advance for any omissions). If you have any other companies or organizations that should be added to the list, please share them with us at community@skagitfoodcoop.com.
