Shop 4% Friday on June 25th to Support Camp Korey
On the 4th Friday of every month, you shop and, together, we give! This year Skagit Valley Food Co-op has partnered with Skagit Community Foundation to make 4% Friday twice as nice with Double Donation Days! Skagit Community Foundation will be matching all of our 4% Friday giving for 2021.
Now, when you shop 4% Friday Community Shopping Days, your purchase will have twice the impact: on Friday, June 25th, we're donating 4% of sales to Camp Korey, and the Skagit Community Foundation will match our total to double the donation!
The mission of Camp Korey is to honor the courage, strength, and determination of children and their families living with life-altering medical conditions by providing them with a transformational experience in a fun, safe camp environment with specialized medical support. Annually, Camp Korey serves over 1,500 children and families living with one or more of 35 medical conditions, including craniofacial differences, solid organ transplants, metabolic bone disorders, skeletal dysplasia, bleeding disorders, skin diseases, sickle cell disease, spina bifida, mitochondrial disease, Down syndrome, and pediatric brain injury. All Camp Korey programs are 100% free of cost to children and families.
How will your shopping trip help Camp Korey?
Camp Korey will use funds from 4% Friday towards the cost of installing permeable pavers that will make their garden more accessible for children using wheelchairs and walkers. Currently, the garden paths are covered in gravel, which is difficult to navigate with small wheels. With pavers installed using volunteer labor, campers and their family members will enjoy better access to planting, harvesting, and eating fresh fruits and veggies.
