Quench your thirst this Spring with New Belgium Brewing’s Belgo –a Belgian-style India Pale Ale. This special IPA blends two distinct beer crafting styles:the Ameri-Belgo and India Pale Ale. Bright, green citrus and honeyed clove flavors abound. With its flavor-fusion and high alcohol content:it’s a party in a six-pack! Enjoy responsibly.
For over 20 years the New Belgium Brewing Company has been crafting delicious and food friendly beer with sustainability in mind. Founder Jeff Lebesche was inspired to develop his homebrewing habit into a business by riding his “fat tire”bicycle through European villages famous for brewing beer. Today the company continues to support cycling events and renewable energy.
What I Drank:Belgo from New Belgium Brewing,Fort Collins,Colorado. 7 % ABV / 60 IBU crisp refreshing beer, steeped in traditional flavors of Belgian ales:spiced, fruity yeasts and a pale, light malted body. Simcoe,Centennial,Cascade,Amarillo hops lighten the brew with a citrus-bitter lift.
What I Ate:Curry Chicken Salad from the Co-op’s Own Deli’s Chicken. This salad is chocked full of free range chicken, curry sauce and diced vegetables. Alongside a box of gluten free Diamond Blue Almond Nut Thins (on sale now for $1.99 per box!)
What I Thought:A winning combination for a warm evening or a busy day. The warm spices of the creamy chicken salad perfectly compliment the refreshingly fruity yeasts of the IPA. The nut thins give a crispy texture and light flavor. Add a green salad for some extra veggies. A great moveable feast for picnics, barbeques and outdoor birthday parties!
