Check out some snazzy new food friendly prints to the Co-op’s Mercantile section! These graphics from Victory Gardens of Tomorrow are a great way to inspire meaningful and sustainable living messages on your walls. Reminiscent of vintage prints from the 1930s-1950s, the dynamic images are based on old canning labels to U.S. wartime recruiting posters.
These screen printed posters are made by artist Joe Wirtheim in his tiny eco‑friendly Communication Design studio in Portland, Oregon. The Victory Gardens for Tomorrow Project is Wirtheim’s self-commissioned poster program designed to channel the bold energies of public propaganda through civic innovation and social progress. Prints hail back to the posters of the highly successful 1944 Victory Garden movement that encouraged Americans to plant and harvest homegrown vegetables. Inspire a greener future for the 21st Century and support Victory Gardens for Tomorrow today. Printed on recycled paper.
